Case Study
Client:
Major US Retailer with $3.5B in Annual Revenue and 36,000+ Employees across 260 locations
Scope:
In 2004, client was purchased by affiliates of a major private equity firm. The IT and HR functions for client were previously provided by the parent company. As part of the spin off of client, the new management team had to create a complete set of non-trade functions and a new technology function to support them.
Objectives:
Due to the unique pressures of an acquisition, Alsbridge was required to develop a detailed plan to answer management's requirements to find the quickest, most cost-effective, and low risk method of creating a complete set of back office functions.
Activities:
Alsbridge developed the strategy and business case for outsourcing all IT and HR functions using a mix of industry benchmarks and our experience as both consultants and former outsourcing service providers. Alsbridge short-listed potential vendors, developed the RFPs, selected the vendors, and negotiated the contracts on behalf of the client. Alsbridge then provided the Program Management Office throughout the implementation and transition.
Results:
In addition to selective outsourcing contracts for 3 major functions within IT, Alsbridge negotiated favorable pricing and contract terms for one of the largest HR Outsourcing contracts to date in the US. Providers are comprised of a mix of on and offshore companies; expected savings are substantial but confidential.
